ABOUT THE OFFICE:
We are a group of board certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons who provide the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial services. Our practice was started over 35 years ago by Dr. Howard Davis, a world- renowned Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Our office takes great pride in keeping current with changes and new procedures to improve the quality of our patient care. All of our surgeons are on faculty at local dental schools and are involved in teaching. We actively participate in clinical research and have published extensively in peer reviewed journals. Our involvement in teaching and research allows us to provide our patients with state-of-the-art procedures and techniques. This sets us apart form many other offices.
ABOUT THE ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONS:
- Ronald Kaminishi D.D.S. received his dental degree from Northwestern University School of Dentistry in 1968. He underwent his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco. He has been in private practice and clinical research since 1974 Bellflower and Huntington Beach, California.
Dr. Kaminishi is a Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University and the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Kaminishi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is a Life Fellow in the International Association of Oral Surgeons. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain.
- David Hochwald D.D.S. received his dental degree in 1976 at Loyola University in Chicago, where he also underwent his oral and maxillofacial surgery training and residency. He has been in private practice and clinical research since 1980 in Bellflower and Huntington Beach, California.
Dr. Hochwald is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International, and a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. He is a Clinical Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California and Director of the USC Surgical Implant Program.
He is active in the Academy of Osseointegration and Past President of the Osseointegration Study Club of Southern California. His area of interest is preprosthetic surgery including major and minor bone grafting, dental implants and esthetics.
- Simona Arcan D.M.D, MD. received her dental degree at the University of Alabama in 1994, and received her medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1998. She underwent her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Southern California and completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery in California in 2002.
Dr. Arcan is a Diplomate at the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is active in dental and medical societies on the local, state and national levels. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Harbor Dental Society, is the medical director of Skin Savvy Medical Group, Inc. in Hermosa Beach, and a member of the Long Beach Memorial Medical center Cleft Palate Team.
Dr. Arcan has a special interest in facial reconstruction and has extensive experience in minimally invasive esthetic procedures such as Botox injections, the use of Collagen and Restylane for dermal fillers, and laser treatment for facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Arcan has staff privileges at Memorial Medical Center in Long beach, and the advanced Healthcare Group and Minuet Day Spa in Huntington Beach.
Dr. Arcan, along with members of her group, actively participates in lectures, clinical research and product development.
- Fariborz Farnad D.M.D. received his dental degree in 1990 at Shahid Beheshti University in Iran where he also underwent his oral and maxillofacial surgery training and residency. In 2001, after four years of private practice he joined the faculty of the University of Southern California as A clinical Assistant Professor. While at USC he underwent a general practice residency/oral surgery internship, followed by a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Detroit Receiving Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Farnad currently continues his faculty work at USC.
Dr. Farnad's areas of interest include facial trauma and reconstruction, sensory nerve disturbances, dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, TMJ and orthognathic surgery.
ABOUT THE STAFF:
Our staff is dedicated to providing the same high quality of care as our doctors. All of our back office staff undergoes specialized training in Oral and Maxillofacial assisting provided by the Southern California Society of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons. Each staff member has an x-ray license issued by the State of California. Our staff undergoes quarterly emergency drill training and all are CPR certified. |
